Announcement: March Sketchcrawl

Adresse: Rue Leon Hengen 2,  1745 Luxembourg

This Sunday we will sketch d'Coque!

Roger Taillibert designed the Kirchberg Olympic swimming pool, whose shape is reminiscent of a shell. The swimming pool, which dates back to 1982, was extended in 2002 with the construction of the National Sports and Cultural Centre, also designed by Taillibert.
Weather permitting we can draw the exteriors of the complex, but we can also draw in the central halls and on the stands of the pool, where the reflections of water are a beautiful pictorial challenge. Put a 'summer' layer under your winter clothes, as it is hot in the pool...

Let's meet at 2 pm on Sunday 1 March 2020 at the entry of the Aquatic Centre of d'Coque.
Address: Rue Leon Hengen 2,  1745 Luxembourg

Visit to the Valentiny Foundation at Remerschen

On our February sketchcrawl our Urban Sketchers Luxembourg group discovered and sketched the Valentiny Foundation at Remerschen near the Moselle.

The Foundation, a public institution with artistic/architectural, pedagogical and touristic objectives, was created to preserve and share the work of François Valentiny, his family and his partners.

It was quite cold to sketch the building from the outside - so after a quick ink sketch I joined the others inside the building...

We were warmly welcomed by Fernand Valentiny , who told us a bit about the building and its history, the different halls and rooms, the exhibitions and conferences, the permanent and temporary collections. More than enough exciting material to sketch!
