Urban Sketchers Reportage grant 2026

It is with great pleasure I let you know that the organization is currently inviting applications to receive a Reportage Grant in 2026.

This grant brings focus to the storytelling aspect of the USk Mission and to inspire new artist-reporters in our global community.  Applications can be submitted by an individual or a group.

Reportage is a visual account of a cultural phenomenon, event, current history, etc., based in drawings completed from direct observation while on location. So what makes a successful reportage project?
  • An interesting idea
  • That the author has the necessary drawing skills
  • The drawings tell a story - a feeling for the setting and the people
  • There is evidence of research – going beyond what is purely on the surface
  • The drawings transmit the sense of place
The winning proposals will be awarded a grant of up to 500 USD to cover expenses related to the project, and authors will have approximately 6 months to complete it.

Closing date for applications - 30 April 2026 noon UTC (please check here for your timezone https://dateful.com/convert/utc)

Happy sketching!
