June 2023: sun and blue skies in the Rousegaart op de Rondellen

The June meeting of Urban Sketchers Luxembourg took place in the Rousegaart op de Rondellen, in Luxembourg city center. From here, we could enjoy the view of Grund framed by local Luxembourgish roses.

May 2023 meeting of Urban Sketchers Luxembourg at Domaine Bricherhaff

For our May 2023 meeting of Urban Sketchers Luxembourg we had the chance to sketch in the quiet and beautiful garden of Domaine Bricherhaff in Neudorf/Kirchberg.

A prominent resident of Bricherhaff from 1953 to 1955 was Jean Monnet, at that time the first president of the "Higher Authority" (Haute Autorité de la Communauté européenne du charbon et de l'acier ). Currently it is the residence of the Dutch Ambassador in Luxembourg.

Mauro

We met at 2 pm sharp at the entrance, where we had a warm welcome from His Excellency the Dutch Ambassador. We could sketch for more than two hours in the peaceful and lush garden. The rain showers waited patiently until our sketches and paintings were finished!

To get a whiff of this afternoon, you can watch this short youtube video.

April 2023 meeting of Urban Sketchers Luxembourg at the Luxembourg Learning Centre in Belval/Esch

On 2 April 2023 the Urban Sketchers Luxembourg met to sketch at the magnificent university library in Belval/Esch - the Luxembourg Learning Centre.

You can see the results of that fine afternoon in this short film  (thank you Ekaterina for the initial film shots, and thank you all participants for your sketches).

The library is an extraordinary place to sketch, inside and outside. Maybe a Sunday afternoon during the Easter holidays is not really the best time to see the library in full swing. But we could appreciate the calm atmosphere to concentrate on our sketching. Definitely a place to go back!

Here the sketches:

See you at our next meeting on 7 May!
