Join Urban Sketchers Luxembourg for the June sketchcrawl

 Dear sketchers,

On the 1rst of June, we will organize the next sketchcrawl.

We will meet at 14:00 in the « Grund », near the entrance of the elevator.

Address: 28, Montée du Grund L-1645 Luxembourg

(From the upper town, you can access to the elevator from the Plateau du Saint Esprit, Cité Judiciaire)

« Konscht am Gronn » , an Open Air Art Exhibition, will also take place in the  « Grund »  (as every first Sunday of the month, from May to October).

From our meeting point and through « rue St Ulric », you can also join in some minutes walk, the « Vallée de la Pétrusse » with some of the urban garden installations of the LUGA.

At 16.30, we will meet again for photos and a drink and draw together.

Sketch meeting 2 February 2025

Dear all sketchers,

For our February sketchcrawl, we will meet at the Drëi Eechelen museum inside the Fort Thüngen, behind Mudam.

When: Sunday February 2, 2025 at 14-17H.

The museum is impressively big! You can go up in the tower and out on the terrace on the roof of the building, or down in the basement to walk in the old tunnels under the fort.

We were last there as a group in March 2 years ago.

Inside the museum, only dry methods for drawing and sketching are allowed, no watercolors inside this time. Benches and foldable chairs are available. Lockers are downstairs (you need a 1 euro coin) and there is a coffee machine in the little cafeteria at the entrance floor.

When you are done sketching, let’s meet in the Mudam cafeteria at 16:45 to take photos of our work. The light is great there and those who want can have a drink. The cafeteria is accessible without paying the entrance fee of Mudam.

Public Transport : tram stop Philharmonie, train Kirchberg-Pfaffenthal, bus Route-Bréck – Pfaffendall.

Two December sketchcrawls with USk Lux: Naturmusée and Nationalmusée

December is a busy month, but our sketcher group had 2 meetings! 

The first was in the Naturmusée where we could draw and paint in the different parts of the museum. The museum had a special exhibition about biodiversity, Tönende Tiere (12.10.2024 – 05.01.2025). This visit was much appreciated by the group of sketcher and many funny and interesting drawings were made on location.

Our November meeting was in Dudelange, more specifically in the POMHOUSE and the WASSERTURM. The drink&draw was in KANTIN Dudelange.

October 2024 in the Lëtzebuerg City Museum

Our October meeting in the Lëtzebuerg City Museum was a real success! Many sketchers joined our meeting for the first time, and many sketches were produced there.

Welcome to the November sketch meeting

Dear sketchers,

Our next sketch meeting will be on Sunday, 3rd of November in Dudelange.

We will meet at 2 PM in the entrance of POMHOUSE, behind the CNA (Centre National de l’Audiovisuel).

Adress of CNA: 1b, rue du Centenaire L-3475 Dudelange

We can paint inside the POMHOUSE and the WASSERTURM / CHATEAU D’EAU (with an interesting panorama of Dudelange and the surroundings) and outside if the weather is fine. The entrance is free.

The drink and draw after the sketch meeting, will take place in the nearby KANTIN.

Our next sketch meeting with Urban Sketchers Luxembourg takes place on 6 October 2024 in the Lëtzebuerg City Museum. We meet in the museum entrance at 2 PM. Everyone welcome to join us!

September sketch meeting: Hämmelsmarsch

It's the time of the year of the Schueberfouer, the annual Luxembourg city fair with a history since 1340. Did you know that traditionally, the village fairs in Luxembourg are opened by a Hämmelsmarsch, the local musicians parading the streets, originally led by a shepherd with his sheep?  

This tradition is visible in the Hämmelsmarsch fountain on the Grande Rue/Rue Genistre corner in Luxembourg city center, on the Um roude Pëtz square. This fountain was recently renovated and put back in mint condition.

Let's meet there for our September sketch meeting!
