INTERNATIONAL SKETCH WEEKEND LUXEMBOURG 25th & 26th June 2022

SATURDAY 25.06
I. 10:00: Welcoming the sketchers at the Casino 41, Rue Notre Dame (6)
II. 14:30: Late arrival at the MNHA Marché aux Poissons (13)
III. 18:30: Aperitif - official photo at the Rives de Clausen Rives de Clausen, Grund (33)
On Saturday, we propose walks to discover the city centre, a former fortress, through the alleys and squares around the Grand Ducal Palace and the Cathedral, in the small islands of the Old Town, on the Corniche and from the old fortifications.
At the end of the day, we will find ourselves in the Grund district, where the former breweries of the city have now been transformed into one of the highlights of the local nightlife.
SUNDAY 26.06
IV. 10:00: Start at the Plateau du Rham Plateau du Rham, rue du Rham (30)
On Sunday, we suggest that you start the day on the former fortified plateaus of the Rham and Obergrünewald before venturing into the suburbs below the Old Town, the Grund, and the Pfaffenthal or the Parc de la Pétrusse. You can discover breathtaking views of the Old Town and its unique skyline at the turn of a path.

Let’s gather before the end of the sketching weekend for a group photo and share your experiences and sketches.

Un sketchcrawl aura lieu dans le cadre du URBAN HISTORY FESTIVAL - PFAFFENTHAL, organisé par la Ville de Luxembourg, lors duquel les Urban Sketchers Luxembourg se promèneront dans le quartier de Pfaffenthal à Luxembourg, pour dessiner et évoquer au fil de l’Alzette ce faubourg historique de la ville.
Rendez-vous le DIMANCHE 19 JUIN 2022 à 14h à l’entrée de la Muerbelsmillen (porte sur le côté du bâtiment, entrée musée), ancien moulin et ancienne moutarderie de Luxembourg, récemment rénové pour accueillir des logements étudiants, des locaux pour associations et le musée montrant le fonctionnement de l’ancien moulin et son histoire, au 69 rue Mohrfels, L-2158 Luxembourg
A la Muerbelsmillen la Ville de Luxembourg mettra du matériel de dessin à disposition de ceux qui ne sont pas équipés.

A sketchcrawl will take place during the URBAN HISTORY FESTIVAL - PFAFFENTHAL, organised by the City of Luxembourg, during which the Urban Sketchers Luxembourg will walk through the Pfaffenthal district in Luxembourg, to draw and evoke this historical suburb of the city along the Alzette.
Let’s meet on SUNDAY 19 JUNE 2022 at 2pm at the entrance of the Muerbelsmillen (door on the side of the building, museum entrance), former mill and mustard factory of Luxembourg, recently renovated to accommodate student housing, premises for associations and the museum showing the functioning of the former mill and its history, at 69 rue Mohrfels, L-2158 Luxembourg
At the Muerbelsmillen the City of Luxembourg will provide drawing materials for those who are not equipped.
