Après notre mois de juin bien bien bien rempli de sketching, nous allons croquer en toute tranquillité dans le parc de la Villa Vauban.

Nous vous invitons à visiter d'abord l'exposition des Paysages anglais de John Constable, chefs-d'œuvre de la collection Tate.

Avec cette source d'inspiration fantastique, nous croquerons nos propres chefs-d'œuvre dans le parc autour de la Villa.

Ensuite, nous pourrons prendre un thé au John's Cottage!

Rendez-vous le dimanche 3 juillet à 14h00 à l'entrée de la Villa Vauban, 18, avenue Emile Reuter, L-2420 Luxembourg
Le prix d'entrée est de 5 euros.

After our busy, busy, busy sketching month of June we will sketch in peace and quiet in the park of the Villa Vauban.

We invite you to visit first the exhibition of English Landscapes of John Constable, Masterpieces from the Tate Collection .

With this powerful source of inspiration we will sketch our own masterpieces in the park around the Villa.

Afterwards we can have a tea at John’s Cottage!

Lets meet on Sunday, 3 July at 2pm at the entrance of the Villa Vauban, 18, avenue Emile Reuter, L-2420 Luxembourg

Entrance fee is 5 euro.

Sketches of the Urban History Festival - Pfaffenthal

C’était une journée très chaude mais nous avons eu le grand plaisir de nous retrouver, et avons une pensée amicale pour Mauro qui n’a pas pu nous accompagner. Il y avait Marcelle, Geneviève, Dominique, Artemis, Monica et Sophia et Veronica, j’espère n’oublier personne…un groupe très féminin dont une partie est allé au frais à l’intérieur de la Murebelmillen dessiner les mécaniques du moulin, Geneviève et les autres ont courageusement bravé les températures extérieures quasi caniculaires pour dessiner le moulin depuis la passerelle ou le lavoir et l’Alzette du côté du Théiwesbur et du Beinchen. 

J’étais très contente de pouvoir faire découvrir mon quartier à mes amies sketchers. La plupart n’y étaient pas encore venues et ont été étonnées et agréablement surprises par l’ambiance et la qualité de vie dans notre petite vallée.

Nous avons ensuite pu nous désaltérer ensemble à l’ombre à une terrasse devant l’épicerie Osada et échanger sur la découverte du quartier. Un grand merci aussi à l’équipe de la Ville de Luxembourg et aux bénévoles du SILPS (Syndicat d’Intérêts Locaux du Pfaffenthal-Siechenhof) qui ont rendu ce beau festival possible.

INTERNATIONAL SKETCH WEEKEND                      LUXEMBOURG 25th & 26th June 2022

USK Luxembourg is very happy to welcome back sketchers from abroad for an exceptional weekend of urban sketching in Luxembourg-City!

OFFICIAL PROGRAMME:

SATURDAY 25.06 

I. 10:00: Welcoming the sketchers at the Casino 41, Rue Notre Dame (6)

II. 14:30: Late arrival at the MNHA Marché aux Poissons (13) 

III. 18:30: Aperitif - official photo at the Rives de Clausen Rives de Clausen, Grund (33) 

On Saturday, we propose walks to discover the city centre, a former fortress, through the alleys and squares around the Grand Ducal Palace and the Cathedral, in the small islands of the Old Town, on the Corniche and from the old fortifications. 

At the end of the day, we will find ourselves in the Grund district, where the former breweries of the city have now been transformed into one of the highlights of the local nightlife.

SUNDAY 26.06 

IV. 10:00: Start at the Plateau du Rham Plateau du Rham, rue du Rham (30)

On Sunday, we suggest that you start the day on the former fortified plateaus of the Rham and Obergrünewald before venturing into the suburbs below the Old Town, the Grund, and the Pfaffenthal or the Parc de la Pétrusse. You can discover breathtaking views of the Old Town and its unique skyline at the turn of a path.

Let’s gather before the end of the sketching weekend for a group photo and share your experiences and sketches.

If you come by car
The A1, A13, A3, A4, A6 and A7 motorways lead directly

If you come by train
The central station is a 10-minute walk from the city centre. The tram and several buses connect the station with the centre (stop Hamilius).

Vel’Oh
Vel’Oh is the public bicycle system of the City of Luxembourg.

If you want to enjoy the nightlife Nightlife buses run every night from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday until 3:30 am.
