Announcement: October 2021 Sketchcrawl of Urban Sketchers Luxembourg in the Thermal Park of Mondorf les Bains

 After the September break we are back to Urban Sketching with new enthusiasm. We will find inspiration in the autumnal colours of the beautiful Thermal Park of Mondorf les Bains

In case of rain we will find shelter in the Aviation Museum, which is located in the heart of the Park and where we will also find some very interesting subjects!
Meeting point on Sunday 3 October at 2pm in the Thermal Park of Mondorf les Bains in front of the Aviation Museum

Après la pause de septembre nous reprenons le Urban Sketching avec nouvel enthousiasme. Nous trouverons de l’inspiration dans les couleurs automnales du beau Parc Thermal de Mondorf les Bains

En cas de pluie nous trouverons un abri dans le Musée de l’Aviation, qui se trouve au coeur du Parc et où nous trouverons également des sujets bien intéressants!

A Ferry Ride and Moselle Sketching

 Our August sketchcrawl took place at the Moselle as usual. 

This time however we started with a delicate amuse bouche to get in the Moselle mood: we took the small ferry Sankta Maria II to get to Oberbillig on the German side.

Against all odds, the weather turned out to be fantastic sketching weather: not too hot, beautiful light, romantic billowing clouds

Selon la tradition, le sketchcrawl USkLux du mois d’août se déroule sur les rives de la Moselle. 

Cette fois-ci nous nous rendons à Wasserbillig, où la Sûre se jette dans la Moselle. Un petit ferry y permet de passer du côté allemand, d'où on a une belle vue sur le confluent des deux rivières.

Rendez-vous le dimanche 1 août 2021 à 14h à l’embarcadère du “Santa Maria” ferry, côté Wasserbillig  (TEC: gare de Wasserbillig sur la ligne vers Trèves)

N'oubliez pas d'apporter un chapeau et de la crème solaire, car le soleil d'août sur l'eau est traître.

Dear sketcher friends,

According to tradition, the August USkLux sketchcrawl takes place on the banks of the Moselle river.

This time we go to Wasserbillig, where the Sauer river flows into the Moselle. A small ferry takes you to the German side of the river, where you have a beautiful view of the confluence of the two rivers.

Meeting point: Sunday 1 August 2021 at 2 pm at the "Santa Maria" ferry landing stage on the Wasserbillig side (public transport: Wasserbillig station on the line to Trier)

Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen because the August sun on the water can be treacherous.

Munsbach Castle and Rose Garden: June 2021 sketchcrawl of Urban Sketchers Luxembourg

 

The weather gods favored us for our June Sketchcrawl : not a drop of rain and also no hats needed to protect us from a relentless sun - perfect sketching weather!

We sketched together in the beautiful gardens and rose garden of Munsbach Castle. A few shy roses had already made their appearance - it is definitely worth returning at the end of June to see the garden in all its splendor.
