Sketch at the Cathedral Notre-Dame in Luxembourg, 5 November 2023

Sketchers of all levels are welcome to our next meeting! It will take place as follows:

Time: 5 November at 2 pm 

Place: Cathedral Notre-Dame, in Luxembourg city. 

It is a remarkable instance of late Gothic style, revealing various components and ornaments inspired by Renaissance style.

Let’s meet at the entrance to the Cathedral in rue Notre-Dame. There are several entrances, this is the main one. 

We are allowed to sketch inside but please remember it is a place of worship, so remain respectful of that. 

At 4:30 pm we gather again at the entrance, to put stamps on our sketches, and take the photos, before going to the Drink&Draw! 

Results of sketchcrawl 1st October 2023

On the first Sunday in October, Urban Sketchers Luxembourg visited the Musée de Calèches Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Peppange, Luxembourg. This museum has a large collection of well-kept horse carriages and old-time equipment. You can do an online visit here: https://www.musee-rural.lu/p/46 

The weather was fantastic for an October afternoon and we could sketch both outside and inside the museum.

Welcome all sketchers to the next meeting of Urban Sketchers Luxembourg!

Our next meeting is at 2 pm on Sunday October 1, 2023 in

Musée de Calèches Grande-Duchesse Charlotte 
Address: 21 Rue de Crauthem, 3390 Peppange

This museum is 200 m from the Musée Rural et Artisanal and contains 20 old carriages. Six of them come from the Grand-Ducal Court.
The museum proposes to exhibit our sketches during the 2024 season, planning still to be fixed.

The entrance fee is 5 Euro in cash! Please don’t forget.

The museum is open from 14-17, and there is a café/brasserie in the Musée Rural where we can have a coffee after (Brasserie am Musée).

With public transport, it is bus 511 from Luxembourg city.

A sunny afternoon in the Community garden in Bonnevoie, Luxembourg

Urban Sketchers Luxembourg were invited by the members of the Bonnevoie Community Garden for a sketching afternoon in the harvest month August.  The community garden is the first ever created in Luxembourg and will soon celebrate its 10th anniversary. What a great reason to draw and paint there while the gardeners were taking care of the plants and the soil! Below you can see some of the 'harvest' from the urban sketchers. Enjoy!

The Schueberfouer is back on the Glacis parking, where we will be able to sketch fairground people, visitors and the various attractions.

Invitation to Bonnevoie Community Garden

The members of the Bonnevoie Community Garden invite us to sketch in their garden!  Please join in!

 

When:  

SUNDAY AUGUST 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.   

Where: 
JARDIN COMMUNAUTAIRE DE BONNEVOIE, on the corner of boulevard Kaltreïs and rue Albert Steffen, 1815 Bonnevoie Luxembourg.

During our drawing moment, a photographer from the City of Luxembourg will spend some time with us to produce a short article that will appear in the next CITY magazine to highlight our meeting! 

 
The community garden (the first ever created in Luxembourg) will celebrate soon its 10th anniversary! For the occasion, an open day will take place on October 8, 2023, with the support of the City of Luxembourg. For those of you who wish to share your drawing, we can collect them and display them at this event!

Joint meeting USk Metz - USk Luxembourg at Mondorf on the francolux border

Oooh, the weather gods were furious and unchained that weekend. 

But they seem to have a soft spot for us sketchers, because on our joint meeting Urban Sketchers Metz - Urban Sketchers Luxembourg we had only one tiny raindrop and perfect sketching weather with a mix of cloud and sun. 

We met at Mondorf-les-Bains, on the francoluxembourg border.
