June: what a better month to visit and sketch a castle garden?

While sketchers from all over the world were hiking virtually through the Valley of the Seven Castles, stopping here and there to make a sketch, the Urban Sketchers Luxembourg met at the Ansembourg Castle for the first time after the lockdown due to COVID-19.

You can see the many results of our parallel virtual and real life June sketchcrawl on our FBpage and on Instagram

Sketches of our youngest participants

It was such a pleasure to see our fellow sketchers sound and safe again, full of energy and inspiration to sketch on location.
The castle owner had granted me the permission to come and sketch in the gardens with a limited group of people, with masks and scrupulous respect of the social distancing rules. The number of participants was much higher than expected - no wonder, after a lockdown of almost three months! - but the gardens are so vast that we could sketch in perfect calm and rest.

Sybille made some beautiful pics of the magnificent gardens in full bloom and the sketchers in full concentration.
